About the event

2022 Awardees: Alex Scott & The Scott Family and Charisse Lillie

Alex Scott & The Scott Family - Dr. Audrey E. Evans Award of Excellence

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alex Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million dollars. The Foundation has gone on to raise over $250 million to fight childhood cancer and has funded over 1,000 research projects.

Charisse Lillie - Jimmy Murray Community Leadership Award

Charisse is a businesswoman, attorney, lecturer, and consultant to law firms, corporations and non-profits on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility. She has dedicated her career and life to serving the community through her many years first as a litigator, then as an executive leader.

Our event celebrates the everyday heroes who demonstrate acts of volunteerism, philanthropy, and goodwill that align with our organizational mission: to support families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.
