About the event

Chairman and CEO of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company since 2013 and recognized as one of the region’s most powerful and influential people, including the Chamber of Commerce Paradigm 2020 Award, Eileen McDonnell will talk about personal accountability, empowerment and a commitment to shared leadership has impacted her career and leadership. Since McDonnell joined Penn Mutual, the Company has risen from 38th largest insurance provider to the 11th and has accomplished something that less than 1% of Fortune 1000 companies have accomplished: having a woman in both CEO and CFO positions.  Penn Mutual’s Board is also 40% female.  One of those female Board members is Charisse Lillie who will interview Eileen about her journey and share insights from her own esteemed career.  Charisse was among the first generation of students to attend an integrated school in Houston, Texas in the 60’s and became acutely aware of the impact attorneys were having on dismantling segregation laws.  She received her B.A. from Wesleyan University, her J.D. from Temple Law School and her LL.M. from Yale.  She is a successful, award-winning attorney and business executive having transitioned from a successful legal career to Comcast as an HR executive and then President of its Foundation. She also serves and has served on several Boards of Directors, such as the Federal Reserve, PECO Energy.

Join us on October 1 when Eileen McDonnell and Charisse Lillie team up to  discuss how personal accountability, empowerment and a commitment to shared leadership have impacted their careers and leadership journeys.
